Challenge

DIRECTV’s Audience Network asked us to build an exclusive, user-friendly site for entertainment award industry voters to access their slate of “For Your Consideration” series. Device and screen scalability assuring mobile-optimization, password protection, real-time analytics and driving instantaneous viewer engagement were key.

Insight

Reflecting DIRECTV’s premium tone and feel is important to relating the brand’s platform to its position as a producer of quality original entertainment; site responsiveness and performance are determinants and differentiators for voters’ length of time viewing and immersing in “FYC” content, impacting potential nominations.

Solution

We developed and designed a fully responsive, branded, password protected site allowing videos to automatically encode to deliver content at multiple resolutions for consistent high-def clarity across any device, environment and connection speed. Servers automatically measured each viewer’s connection to assure the highest quality experience for videos and adaptive streaming. Providing granular capability to track the number of users, length of time spent on the site, content viewed, re-watched and skipped over helped guide and hone the progressive campaign strategy.
